I will never forget seeing the Duchess Kate Middleton in a gorgeous pair of green earrings. After googling and discovering these were affordable, I knew I had to take the plunge and purchase a pair.

Backed by award-winning sustainability practices, Monica Vinader jewellery is handcrafted in 100% recycled gold and sterling silver with natural gemstones and conflict-free diamonds. The stones are from India, where many are also cut and the jewellery is made in places such as China, Thailand, the Philippines and Italy.

In April 2020 Monica, the founder of the brand started making jewellery using 100% recycled silver, a step to make immediate reductions in CO2 and be kinder to the environment. All of their deliveries and returns are now carbon-neutral and the packaging is all fully FSC certified, with the aim of being 100% recyclable soon.

Growing up, I preferred silver/ white gold jewellery now that I have reached my 30s I’m not sure if it’s an age related or a shift in trends but I am definitely steering more towards gold, hence my most recent and favourite purchase- the Signature Thin Bangle in 18ct Gold Vermeil. Part angular, part naturally curved, the hand-cut Peruvian amazonite bar fuses strong, clean lines with a flowing arc to highlight the design’s sparkling potential. At least 2.5 microns of Gold, is layered on top of sterling silver to create a finish five times thicker than average gold plating, making it far more durable. The unique design is one of a kind and I love layering mine with an array of thin chains and polished cuffs.
